On Tuesday March 20th, we had the privilege of attending a conference on access and equity issues in healthcare and social services for Black communities as part of Black History Month 2024, in collaboration with Femmes en Emploi! 💓
🤗 We were deeply impressed by the insights shared by the panelists, including Kharoll-Ann Souffrant, T.S., M.S.S., Stéphanie Ashley Camilien, inf., M.Sc. from Centre Professionnel Alter-Natives Inc., and Sandrine Staco, Dt.P./R.D. Their captivating discussion shed light on various barriers to access and equity for Black communities, particularly in mental health and nutrition. 🎤 The discussions were skillfully led by Béatrice Noël, who held our attention with her engaging moderation and witty remarks.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Annie Koutrakis, MP for Vimy, for her invaluable contribution to this enlightening event. We also appreciate the insights shared by Aline Dib, municipal councilor of Saint-Martin, who reiterated the City of Laval’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Let’s recognize the commendable efforts of Claudie Mompoint in social development and intercultural relations at the City of Laval. Our sincere thanks go to Maria Matta, political attaché to Alice Abou-Khalil, MP, and the attachés of Sona Lakhoyan Olivier for their active participation in the discussions.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Armand-Frappier Health Museum, particularly Guylaine Archambault and Christelle Sachot, for their warm hospitality during the event.
Congratulations to the organizers, Stéphanie Froissart, Emilie Leboeuf, Claudia Sarracini, and Mirlaine Dorce-Breton, for orchestrating such an informative and impactful event! 💡
